The Suzuki Jimny was a compact 4x4 originally introduced in 1970. The Jimny is notable for its compact size, which remained so throughout the years. This is in stark contrast to its contemporaries, which typically grew substantially in size throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s. This size restraint was to give the Jimny 'kei' status in Japan, which gave tax priveliges and other benefits to Suzuki.
