The AM General Humvee is the US Military's successor to the original jeep and it's descendents. The term 'Humvee' comes from the official name for the vehicle: High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, or HMMWV for short. The Humvee has been in service since 1985 and has been deployed all over the globe. As such, there have been many variants designed for different terrains and enemies over the years.
