A.K.A. The Long Jeep
ASSEMBLY : TOLEDO, OH, USA
UNITS PRODUCED : 44,000
PREDECESSOR : TJ Wrangler
SUCCESSOR : JK Wrangler
BASE MODEL : TJ Wrangler
The LJ Wrangler was a TJ Wrangler with a 10-inch longer wheelbase. It was similar to the CJ-6 Universal and CJ-8 Scrambler before it, which were both longer versions of existing models (CJ-5 Universal and CJ-7, respectively). The longer wheelbase allowed more rear-seat leg room and more cargo space, as well as greater towing capacity. These features, combined with low production numbers, make LJ jeeps highly sought-after today.
