BASE MODEL : M-151 MUTT

The M-718 Ambulance was a modified M-151 MUTT with a longer bed to accommodate a stretcher. The M-151 MUTT was the successor to the M38-A1, and was the first military jeep to feature an integrated body design and coil suspension. It was designed and initially produced by Ford Motors, but subsequent contracts were also granted to Kaiser and AMC. As such, its distinctive grille features horizontal slots because Jeep retained the copyright to the vertical-slot design of previous military jeeps.
